The Bitcoin Shopping List
Bitcoin is big news. But what does it mean to the average consumer?
As part our #FutureOfMoney campaign we surveyed 2,000+ online consumers to find out more about awareness and usage of bitcoin (and other crypto-currencies). The results showed that awareness was good at 57%. 5% of those surveyed have used bitcoin and 18% said they would use the digital currency.
One of several challenges to growth is the language around digital currencies. How much does stuff actually cost?
To put this into context we’ve created an infographic to create a shopping basket of items in both £s and bitcoin. We looked at a range of items and settled on 40 that cover everyday purchases such as a Mars bar, a night out through to a luxury London pad. The Bitcoin Shopping List infographic shows the prices in both sterling and BTC.
